SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE
REGISTRATION GUIDELINES
The General Assembly & Scientific Conference at the FAMSA GA 2024 will feature insightful plenary sessions, practical workshops/parallel sessions and communication of research findings via oral and poster presentations. Interested participants who are looking to put a spotlight on their research to submit their abstracts related to any of the following Conference sub-themes:
- Enhancing social accountability, patient involvement and quality assurance in medical education in Africa (With Medical ethics, Patient-centered care, Medical curriculum; Evidence-based medicine as focus areas.)
- Open science, responsible research and research education in Africa
- Digital transformation of health systems in Africa (With Artificial Intelligence, Virtual health/Telemedicine and Health Data Analytics as focus areas.)
- Advancing Local Production in Vaccines, Diagnostics and Therapeutics in Africa
- Protection of healthcare & human rights in forced displacement, migration, emergencies and disasters in Africa
- Unmasking the silent epidemics in Africa: Non-communicable diseases and Mental Health (With Non-Communicable Diseases and Mental Health as focus areas.)
- Combating Antimicrobial Resistance, Infectious Diseases and Neglected Tropical Diseases in Africa (With Infectious diseases, NTDs and Antimicrobial resistance as focus areas.)
- Addressing Health Emergencies, Biosecurity, Climate Change and Multisectoral Response Mechanisms for Health Security in Africa
- Empowering communities to combat gender-based violence and abolish harmful traditional practices in Africa
INSTRUCTION FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
- All abstracts, except submitted under Projects, should follow the Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion format.
- Submitted PDFs are to contain the following (in strict adherence to the order below):
- Title of Abstract
- Abstract Body: This is to follow the format Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion, each followed by a colon (:). The Abstract Body must be no more than 350 words. This includes the headings but excludes the Title of Abstract, and all other sections below. Submissions that violate the word count for the Abstract Body will NOT be reviewed.
Be sure to double check this before making your submission.
